Maximising ROI from Mobile Advertising kicks off on Tuesday 12th May with a focus day on location enabled mobile advertising. Location is often highlighted as one of the key factors differentiating mobile from other forms of advertising and – when used correctly – can deliver real context and relevance to subscribers and brands alike. During the focus day, you will hear from Erik Hoogenhout, Mobile Advertising Manager at KPN (examining the potential for generating revenues from location enabled mobile advertising), Swisscom’s Head of New Product Development, John Riordan (optimising the user experience for location based advertising) and panel questioning whether location can deliver on the hype surrounding mobile advertising. In addition, you will get the chance to create mobile campaigns based on specific location scenarios including Bluetooth/proximity marketing, local search and mobile coupons, and location based gaming and social networking.
The main conference gets underway with representatives from leading operators and advertising agencies. T-Mobile’s Head of New Propositions, Damien Byrne will analyse the role of operators in the mobile advertising value chain, and Bouygues Telecom’s Martin Kaiser will lay out the roadmap for collaboration between the mobile and advertising industries to build a successful ecosystem. From the agency perspective you will hear David Fieldhouse, Head of Mobile for agency giant MediaCom, on how to integrate mobile into a 360° media mix and Planning Director for Publicis, Thomas Curwen, who will define the key metrics needed to drive media spend on mobile advertising.
You will also get the latest update from the GSMA’s cross operator measurement initiative in the UK, as it seeks to deliver standardisation for mobile banners. This will be followed by a panel discussion questioning the role of industry bodies in developing the mobile advertising market, which will include contributions from the MMA, IAB Europe and Mobile Monday.
Conference day two gets underway with a keynote address from Eric Kip, the CEO of ad-funded MVNO Blyk, who will deliver a case study on how to successfully deliver contextually relevant mobile advertising. He will be followed by former Blyk Sales Director and now Senior Consultant for OgilvyOne Worldwide, Jonathan MacDonald who will argue that privacy, permission and preference are the foundations upon which the mobile advertising industry can grow. 3 Austria’s Head of Business Development, Andreas Martin will then examine whether an operator can become a full service media agency, and Google’s Director of Partner solutions Nikos Kryvossidis follows with an in depth analysis of mobile search advertising.
The conference draws to a close with content provider case studies from the BBC and Thomson Reuters followed by a look at the creative side of mobile campaigns with contributions from BBH Head of Mobile Peter Sells and Fring’s Chief Architect, Boaz Ziberman.
In addition, scattered throughout the agenda are 10 minute campaign case study slots which are designed to give you a best practise guide to different forms of mobile advertising. Included in these sessions are advertising campaigns rolled out through the idle-screen, mobile applications, text links and banners, mobile web, ring-back tones and messaging.
